President Donald Trump will use the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington as the backdrop for a final pitch to voters on Monday. The event serves as a direct appeal ahead of the midterm elections.
The White House announced the Monday afternoon speech on Sunday. This follows remarks Trump made to reporters while leaving Air Force One in Iowa. He stated he intended to speak at the location to show how beautiful it is. He initially suggested the event might happen the next day without providing a specific time.
Officials describe the address as a closing argument for the Republican Party. Trump is expected to discuss the upcoming vote. He will also highlight recent renovation work in Washington, D.C., and the reopening of the Reflecting Pool.
This setting marks a shift from the president’s recent campaign strategy. For the past month, he has held more than 25 rallies in conservative areas. Those efforts aim to counter low approval ratings. Polls suggest that the Iran war, high energy prices, and rising costs of living could benefit Democrats on election night.
The speech offers one of the few remaining opportunities for Trump to address prospective voters directly before the polls close.
