The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Indiana Pacers 110-102 on Monday night, and moments later turned their attention to Florida. The team posted a graphic on social media reading: "Bad day to be a Florida sports fan."
The post landed as two Florida outcomes were becoming clear. The Miami Heat dropped to 0-4 with a 113-109 loss to the Dallas Mavericks, and the Tampa Bay Rays trailed the Milwaukee Brewers 10-0 in the late innings of Game 3 of the World Series. Milwaukee sent Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami in a trade in June.
The Brewers finished off a 10-1 win about 40 minutes after the Bucks posted their message, taking a 3-0 series lead. Milwaukee built the margin with an eight-run fifth inning at Tropicana Field in Saint Petersburg. According to ESPN Research, teams leading 3-0 in the World Series are 25-0.
The Heat played at Kaseya Center in Miami, about 250 miles from where the Rays were playing. The Bucks' post went up while their neighbors' game was still underway.
Tyler Herro led Milwaukee with 23 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Ryan Rollins added 19 points. The Bucks had opened the season 0-3.
The Bucks and Brewers have coordinated during the series. Milwaukee moved the tipoff time of its regular-season opener because it fell on the same day as Game 1 in Milwaukee. The Heat and Bucks are scheduled to meet for the first time on Nov. 18. Game 4 of the World Series is set for Tuesday in Tampa Bay, and the Bucks do not play that day.
The Brewers' victory put them one win from their first World Series title.
