Poll workers across Alaska report long lines for early voting. Voters at these locations now receive a specific set of stickers that have drawn strong interest. The designs are distinct from previous years.
Amanda Rose Warren, an artist based in Anchorage, created this year's stickers. She produced five different images, each representing a specific part of the state. The designs include a moose for Anchorage, a bear for Wasilla, a fox for Fairbanks, a whale for Juneau, and a musk ox for Nome.
Warren added the U.S. and Alaskan flags to her original paintings. She placed the animals beneath the aurora borealis in the artwork. Warren explained the choice of a shared background. “I tried to create the same aurora over each of the animals to signify we are all under one sky here in Alaska,” she said. She noted that voting days can feel divided, and she hoped the art would bring people together.
Grace Ann Pierce, a poll worker at the Midtown Mall early voting site, said voters often hesitate when choosing a sticker. “People will get up here and they hesitate on what sticker they want to pick,” Pierce said. She added that staff sometimes joke with voters about their focus on the rewards.
Warren said the Alaska Division of Elections contacted her to design the stickers. She has received many messages from supporters who are eager to get the items. “Small texts and emails from people early voting, just really excited to go in and grab the sticker while they’re there,” Warren said. Her moose design also appears on the cover of the official Alaska Division of Elections Pamphlet for the 2026 general election.
