Two Alaska companies received the 2026 Torch Award for Ethics from the Better Business Bureau Foundation and BBB Great West + Pacific. The recognition was announced during a multi-location virtual ceremony that took place on October 29. The award distinguishes businesses based on leadership character, workplace culture, customer support, and community impact. It is regarded as the most prestigious honor the BBB Foundation gives out in its eight-state service area covering the Great West and Pacific.

Alaska Premier Group won the award in the small business category. The company is a woman-owned real estate brokerage established in Wasilla in 2016. It serves residential, commercial, and land markets. Its services include buyer and seller representation, relocation assistance, and consulting. The firm states that it prioritizes education, transparency, and ethical guidance to help clients make informed decisions.

Alaska Sleep Clinic was named the winner in the medium-sized business category. The Anchorage-based clinic was founded in 2002. It provides diagnosis and treatment for sleep disorders through sleep studies, breathing therapy, telehealth, and personalized care. The veteran-owned business has expanded its presence to include offices in Wasilla, Fairbanks, and Soldotna. It previously served as a finalist for the Torch Award in 2022. That same year, the clinic also received the Bill Bivins Small Business of the Year Award from the Alaska Chamber.

Tyler Andrew, president and CEO of BBB Great West + Pacific, commented on the selection process. He noted that ethical leadership can take many forms. He emphasized that both winners share a commitment to trust, integrity, and doing right by the people they serve. Andrew expressed pride in recognizing the example they set and the positive impact they are making in their communities and across the marketplace.

The Torch Award for Ethics aims to highlight superior standards in business conduct. The selection process evaluates how companies interact with their employees and customers. It also looks at their role within the local community. For Alaska Sleep Clinic, the award follows a period of geographic expansion and a focus on sleep health education. For Alaska Premier Group, it recognizes a decade of building relationships in the real estate sector.

The awards were part of a wider recognition event that spanned multiple locations. The virtual format allowed participants from across the eight-state region to attend. The two Alaska firms were the only businesses from the state selected this year. The announcement concluded the selection process for the 2026 cycle of the Torch Award.
