Hawaii voters now have access to a network of in-person locations for the 2026 General Election, with early voting officially underway across the state's four counties. The Office of Elections has activated voter service centers and ballot drop boxes to accommodate residents who prefer to vote before Election Day, which is scheduled for November 3, 2026. These sites offer same-day registration and accessible in-person voting for those who have not yet cast their ballots.
In the County of Hawaii, two main centers are operating daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The County of Hawaii Aupuni Center in Hilo and the West Hawaii Civic Center in Kailua-Kona will extend their hours to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. Voters on the Big Island can also deposit mail ballots at 10 specific locations, including the Hawaii County Building in Hilo and the West Hawaii Civic Center. Several of these drop boxes, such as those at the County of Hawaii Aupuni Center and the West Hawaii Civic Center, remain accessible 24 hours a day until 7 p.m. on November 3.
Maui County has established four voter service centers to serve its residents. The Velma McWayne Santos Community Center in Wailuku and the County of Maui Old Youth Center in Lanai City operate from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday starting October 20. A third location, the Mitchell Pau'ole Center in Kaunakakai, is open daily except Sunday during the same hours. A temporary center at Hana High & Elementary School in Hana will be open for a single day, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All Maui centers will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on Election Day.
On Kauai, the Historic County Annex Building Basement in Lihue serves as the primary voter service center. It follows the standard early voting schedule of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, shifting to a 12-hour window on November 3. The island features 10 ballot drop box locations, including the Elections Division office and various neighborhood centers in Hanalei, Hanapepe, and Kapaau. Most of these drop boxes are open 24 hours a day starting October 14, ensuring residents have flexible opportunities to return their mail ballots.
Honolulu County offers the largest number of drop box locations, with 17 sites open daily from October 14 through November 3. These include the Honolulu Hale on South King Street and the Kapolei Hale. Additional drop boxes are located in parks and community centers across Oahu, such as Asing Community Park in Ewa Beach and the Kailua District Park. Like the other counties, the main voter service centers in Honolulu and Kapolei are open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with extended hours on Election Day. A temporary center at George Fred Wright Wahiawa District Park is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. between October 27 and October 31.
The state provides an interactive map to help voters locate the nearest service center or drop box. Ballot drop boxes allow voters to submit their voted mail ballot packets for collection by the County Elections Division. Hours of operation vary slightly by location and county, but the final deadline for all in-person voting and ballot submission is 7 p.m. on November 3, 2026. Voters are advised to check specific address details for each site, as some are located in conference rooms or basements of larger municipal buildings.
