Drivers in the Halton Region should expect lane restrictions on eight provincial highway corridors starting October 31, 2026. The Ontario Ministry of Transportation has scheduled these closures for roadwork, with most occurring between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Seven of the eight closures take place on the Queen Elizabeth Way in Burlington. One section between Brant Street and Guelph Line will have two alternating lanes closed. Another section between Northshore Boulevard and Fairview Street / Plains Road will also lose two alternating lanes. A third section between Guelph Line and Brant Street will see two alternating lanes closed in the Fort Erie direction.
A fourth Burlington section between Fairview Street / Plains Road and Northshore Boulevard will have three alternating lanes closed in the Fort Erie direction. Two separate work zones on the Queen Elizabeth Way between Burloak Drive and Burloak Drive will each close one right lane. These specific lane closures are scheduled for different dates in early November.
Highway 401 in Milton will also see disruptions. The westbound lane between Regional Road 25 and Guelph Line will have two alternating lanes closed. The eastbound lane between Guelph Line and Regional Road 25 will also have two alternating lanes closed. Both Highway 401 closures are scheduled for the same time window.
