Kyle Manfre was taken into custody by the Los Angeles Police Department on Wednesday following a dispute at a Wendy's restaurant in Northridge. The incident, which began Tuesday morning, went viral after footage showed Manfre holding a knife near a table. He told NBC Los Angeles that he wants to clarify the sequence of events, stating that he did not do anything wrong.

Manfre described sitting at the restaurant with his girlfriend when they began saying grace. He said another customer, wearing a baseball cap, was already arguing with employees at that time. A witness named Jesus Lepit confirmed that a belligerent man was harassing staff about unrelated issues before approaching the couple. Lepit said the man came to their table while they were eating breakfast.

Manfre provided video from his own phone showing the other man approaching their table. He recalled the man getting close and repeatedly asking, "What are you going to do about it?" Manfre said he felt the man was treating him like a broken record. The confrontation escalated when the other man allegedly tried to strike him with a chair. Manfre claimed he was hit with three or four different chairs, noting that the chair flying through the air is visible in the video.

Manfre said he pulled out his knife to protect himself and his girlfriend. "I brandished a knife," he said. "I didn't use it. I didn't commit any form of felony." He described the act as self-defense after feeling victimized. He added that he saved his girlfriend and everyone else in the establishment, contrasting his actions with being branded a villain.

LAPD officers arrived at the scene and arrested Manfre on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. The department identified the other man as the victim. Police said he was transported to a hospital with minor injuries, including a laceration. Manfre stated that he also went to a hospital and has retained an attorney. The police have not yet released the name or current whereabouts of the other individual involved in the dispute.

The video of the confrontation has spread online, showing the moment Manfre displays the knife. While Manfre maintains that the other patron initiated the physical aggression, the arrest suggests officers viewed the weapon display as a factor in the incident. The two men were both treated for injuries sustained during the Tuesday morning clash.
